The Scribe series consists of ink drawings and newly developed digital prints on Kozo paper. Text appears within the work as a reference to ‘doing’—the physical acts involved in drawing and installation—embedded into layered surfaces of marks, embossings, and brushstrokes.

Each piece builds through rhythmical painted flicks and gestures layered over graphite rubbings and embossed textures. Graphite is gently rubbed across the paper to reveal fragments of text, which are gradually obscured by subsequent applications of gouache and mark-making. This approach defines a process rooted in material transition and repeated action—moving fluidly from one mark to another, one surface to the next.
Unfolding from image to image, page to page, the series develops a visual language shaped by gesture and bodily interaction. These layered compositions trace an evolving journey of process and repetition, revealing the close relationship between movement, mark-making, and meaning.
